The movement to restore empathy and integrity to our federal government
When two words that are characteristic of all good people and good government are a rebuke of our President and his supporters in Congress, we should say so every day; we provide a simple way to do that. Let others know where you stand, and they may choose to stand with you. Empathy and integrity – it’s all we ask.
Our Mission
All We Ask is a movement, not an organization. Simply put, our mission is to restore empathy and integrity to our federal government. We expect honesty, fairness, and decency from those who lead us, and believe those elected to represent us should have the capacity and desire to truly understand and represent all of us, regardless of party. We want to restore trust in government and believe that a government that embraces empathy and integrity is the only government we can trust.
Who we are
We are anyone who acknowledges that our current federal government under President Trump is not motivated by empathy or constrained by integrity. You should join us if you are looking for a simple way to express your opposition to President Trump’s efforts to concentrate power in the executive branch under his control, overriding the checks and balances designed by the founders of this country to prevent the corruption, favoritism, narcissism, and cruelty that inevitably occur when a single individual has the power to rule by decree.
The task at hand
This is not a movement for or against a particular political party, but our current Congress under Republican control has made it clear that they are either unwilling or unable to stop the expansion and abuse of the power of the presidency under Donald Trump. Therefore, the movement to restore empathy and integrity to our federal government must start with a change of leadership in Congress – this is the task at hand in 2026. The time may come when the federal government loses its integrity under Democratic control, and the restoration of integrity requires their removal from power, but that is not where we are today.
A simple way to join us
Organized, on-location protests are important, but they are intermittent, and attendance is a lot to ask from working people and busy parents. We want to make it easy for those who are frustrated and often outraged by the actions of the current administration to speak out in large numbers every day in a consistent and positive way. Our solution is an abbreviated message, “Empathy and Integrity”, printed on a wristband; just two words that describe most of what is missing from our government under Donald Trump. The full message is this: in 2026 and beyond, you will vote to restore empathy and integrity to our federal government and reject any House or Senate candidate who stands with Donald Trump. If we want change, we cannot remain silent and hope that others will make it happen. If you want change, buy the wristband now and wear it as often as you can so that others will know where you stand and may choose to stand with you.
The All We Ask movement does not profit
from your purchase of a wristband. There is no way to donate money to this movement. You contribute by wearing the band and spreading the word – it’s all we ask.
Before you buy - a final message from us to you
We started the All We Ask movement out of frustration. Donald Trump had been elected for a second time and immediately began his assault on every agency, organization, institution, industry, or individual that did not fully endorse him and his political agenda or might constrain his power to implement it. At first, we hoped the Republican-controlled congress would constrain him, but that didn’t happen. We then hoped the Democrats in Congress would do something, but we soon realized there was not much they could do. Eventually, it became clear that no one person, political party, or government body was both able and willing to stop Trump, and it was up to us, the people as a whole, and every one of us as individuals, to stand up and speak out against his worst impulses. We needed a way to let others know that the Trump way – the constant distortion of the truth to stoke fear and prejudice for the purpose of creating grievances that divide our nation and the world – is not our way and cannot become the American way. So the All We Ask movement and the associated wristband were conceived as a way for people like us to come together in protest with a consistent message. But we do not want this movement to evolve into an organization or PAC – we want your participation, not your money – so the “order here” button above will take you directly to the wristband manufacturer and allow us to remain who we are, just a few ordinary people with a message to share. The one downside of this approach is that manufacturers prefer to deal in bulk and their pricing reflects that, so you will find that your first five wristbands, the minimum order, will cost you about $7 each. Keep in mind though, that if you buy 100 bands with the intention of sharing with extended family and friends, or people who see your band and inquire about it, each band will cost just $1, and if you want to be a superstar and hand them out at the next protest you attend, as some of us are doing, you can buy 1000 wristbands for just 30 cents each. However you choose to participate, we appreciate it and, trust us, wearing and sharing the wristband will make you feel better!
